The Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve, or ‘EGR’, on Diesel vehicles, is an emission control device that reintroduces exhaust gases into the engine to reduce emissions by lowering combustion chamber temperatures. The EDR-3 adjusts flow or pauses the service to avoid potential fluid build-up or hydrolock if the engine stalls or RPM’s drop too low.
