Read instructions thoroughly before, during and after service. These instructions are generalized. It is presumed that the person using these instructions has basic automotive skills and experience. No automotive system can perform to its maximum potential without proper maintenance and adjustment to all its components.
SAFETY NOTES
• Brake fluid may damage paint and other materials. Use approved fender cover to protect area.
• Before starting a service, inspect the machine for damage to hoses, adapters etc. If damage exists, repairs must be coMOCleted before the equipment can be used.
• MOC Brake Fluid Exchanger Machines are ONLY coMOCatible with DOT 3 or DOT 4 Brake Fluids.
• When lifting a vehicle, properly secure the vehicle and follow all instructions and precautions stated by the lift’s manufacturer.
• Open the hood and locate the brake fluid reservoir.
• Remove the brake reservoir cap (and inner screen, if applicable). Note the condition and level of brake fluid prior to starting the service.
• Attach the Fill & Evacuator Tool (MOC # 98153) to the suction hose, which is identified by the red sleeve next to the coupler.
• Evacuate the old fluid from the brake reservoir leaving about a 1/4″ of fluid. DO NOT DRAIN COMPLETELY!
• Attach the MOC# 98452A brake reservoir adapter to the brake reservoir.
• Tighten the adapter COMPLETELY so the gasket seals inside of the reservoir to prevent leaking.
• Connect the Black service hose to the adapter. Confirm that the connection is secure.
• Add new fluid to the brake reservoir and make sure the adapter connection does not leak once reservoir is full and under pressure.
• Raise the vehicle and center the machine.
• Attach the Brake Bleeder Adapter to the bleeder screw of the caliper desired to begin the brake bleeding sequence (pursuant to manufacturer’s specifications).
• Open the bleeder screw to remove the used fluid. Observe the flow and color of fluid being removed.
• After bleeding all four brakes, turn off the machine.
• Release any residual pressure. Lower the vehicle before continuing.
• Disconnect the Pressure Hose from the brake reservoir adapter. Remove the brake reservoir adapter and make sure the brake fluid level is correct. Adjust the fluid level, if necessary.
• Re-attach the brake reservoir cap, and replace the inner screen, if applicable.
