Kia 1.6L Hybrid Engine

INSTRUCTIONS

Read instructions thoroughly before, during and after service. These instructions are generalized. It is presumed that the person using these instructions has basic automotive skills and experience. No automotive system can perform to its maximum potential without proper maintenance and adjustment to all its components.

• MOC Fuel and Carbon cleaner may damage paint and other materials. Use approved fender cover to protect area.
• Perform service in a well-ventilated area, or attach vehicle to approved shop exhaust ventilation system.
• Use only approved throttle pedal depressor (Part # 75007) during service.
• If the vehicle has any existing Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC’s), they should be addressed and/or repaired prior to the service being performed.

STEP 1

Open the hood of the vehicle and locate the air intake boot at the entrance of the throttle body.

Disconnect the air intake boot at the entrance of the throttle body.

STEP 3

Ensure the MOC #73445 Throttle Body adapter is securely attached to the service hose. Connect the MOC# 73445 adapter to the throttle body.

Set the air pressure on the CAT tool to 60psi.

STEP 4

Ensure Emergency Brake is on, and engine drive belts are free of any obstructions. Start engine and bring vehicle up to proper operating temperature. Use the throttle depressor to set the engine speed to approximately 1500 rpm.

TECH TIP: Failure to use the throttle depressor may result in SEVERE engine damage

STEP 5

Open ball valve on the bottom of the tool.

Observe the fluid level indicator on the canister housing to determine when the product has been completely evacuated. When the product has been depleted, the service is complete.

Remove the throttle depressor and slowly raise the engine RPM above 3500 RPM 2 to 3 times to clear any residual product.

STEP 6

Add MOC Fuel Tank additive to fuel tank. Make sure tank has a minimum of 10 gallons of fuel. Less dilution may cause engine to run erratically during cleaning cycle.
Immediately test drive the vehicle for at least 15 minutes to clear any residual product. Check for any service engine lights, and clear any codes that may have been set.

TECH TIP: Technician failure to test drive the vehicle after service may result in engine damage!
